The Line-Up for 8-19-2011

It still took me an inordinate amount of time to put this show together. I'll get it together, though. Also, I give this current theme song a couple more weeks so get your input to me as soon as you can.

Johannes Wallmann Brasstet - The Sweet Minute
I kept three computer selections for this week's show. I put the first two at the top of the hour.
Roxy Coss - Lately
Since the computer picked this track, I don't have all that much to say.
Kenneth Whalum III - It Was Written (feat. Common)
I had two or three tracks from KWIII before he gave me his album this past weekend. After finally hearing the whole album, I realize he picked the tracks he sent me for a reason. The whole album fits together really well but "It Was Written" stands on its own very well.
Shane Endsley and the Music Band - Big
When I got the track for this, I had some... problems with it. Hopefully this plays alright.
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey - Black Wall Street
From August 23 until it's August 30th release, Nextbop will be streaming JFJO's Race Riot Suite. This is the second track from that album, before the narrative makes a dark turn.
Menahan Street Band - Home Again!
I've been feeling some Menahan Street Band for a little while.
George Benson - White Rabbit
This was the third computer selection.
Jason Moran - I'll Play the Blues for You
Kory suggested this for the new Line-Up theme song. He's not sure how it'll work but I figured I'd play this anyway and toss that option out there.
Christian Scott - The Eraser
Both Seb and I thought about this track for the new theme song as well. I like how we think alike.
The Bad Plus - Flim
Because this serves as the theme song to the show, I don't think I've ever given it any legit play. As one era closes down, I figured I'd give this song its full time.

Mic Breaks
Trade Voorhees - Stoned Soul
J&D - Coffee in the Morning
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Drippy Eye
Tribeca - 4ever 2gether

Shout out to Blind I for hipping me to the Roy Ayers Project Beat Submission Compilation, the source for most of the music beds for my mic breaks this week.
