The Line-Up for 10-28-2011

A cold front has blown into San Antonio, so it's a bit chilly. That's nice, right? October actually feels sort of like October. That's Texas weather for you. But you're not here to talk about the weather, you're here for a really cool radio show.

Rachelle Ferrell - Why You Wanna Mess It All Up?
Rachelle's coming to San Antonio to the Carver Community Cultural Center on November 12th. I'll be there, how about you?
dela - Can It B So Simple?
BADBADNOTGOOD - Electric Relaxation
I've been wanting to play these guys on the show more often than I have but I just haven't found the right slot for them other than a music beds. Oh, and have you seen their recent jam session videos with Tyler, the Creator? I think I finally get OFWGKTA. I was trying really hard to for a while.
Don Cherry - Brown Rice
The computer filled my hour with a lot of stuff that didn't fit this week. This was the only track it picked that did. If fact, it fits really well. It's weird and trippy and awesome and a little gem of this weeks show, I think.
Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood - Legalize It
No, seriously. No comment. I was just feeling some MMW and... um... then this happened.
Nujabes - Tsurugi No Mai
Vijay Iyer - Dogon A.D.
Happy birthday, Vijay, he of utter brilliance and the dopest sneakers in all of jazz.
Austin Peralta - Algiers
Happy birthday, Austin, he of the coolest "jazz" crew on the west coast.
múm - Awake on a Train
Ari Hoenig - Arrows & Loops
Nextbop is streaming Hoenig's 2009 album, Lines of Oppression, from November 8-14.
MF DOOM - Licorice
Marco Benevento - Atari
Kory actually scheduled to play some live Marco Benevento earlier in the day so I figured I'd continue along with it to close my show this week. It felt right.
